Owning a website without good, quality back links or properly executed SEO campaign is like creating a letter to someone and throwing it out on free space, hoping a reader will locate it soon. With so many letters written in the world, the likelihood of someone reading it is practically zero. This also goes for website.

This is basically the reason why SEO companies are providing various link building services to benefit your website and in the long run, your business.

Importance of Backlinks

Backlinks are vital to websites. Check out your favorite website and I'm sure hundreds if not thousands of websites link back to them. A good SEO company will recognize your need for this, and will create a campaign to address your needs.

A word of advice though, not all back links are created equal. There are relevant links, and there are links just to mix up your back links database - some can be helpful, while some potentially harmful.

One way & Reciprocal Links

There was a time people put high regard for reciprocal links. Note on the phrases there was a time, since nowadays reciprocals don't provide as much value as they used to. Reciprocals are links that are mutual - for example, site A will link back to site B, and vice versa. Both have links towards each other.
One way links on the other literally means what it says - a link from site A to site B. Site B doesn't link back. This provides more value plus if it's in a relevant link - relevant meaning if site A is about Car engines and Site B is about cars, then they are in the same industry or related field.

Important notes for back links

There are many ways to acquire back links - but that isn't what we're here for today. What I want to discuss here are the things you need to remember when building up your back links.

When submitting to article directories like EzineArticles that allows for links on the author bio, the back link must be carefully created. What do I mean by this? Creating a back link requires very minor HTML knowledge but even the smartest HTML editor can make mistakes sometimes. The proper code must be put in place or your link won't matter at all. You must be careful in typing the letters, because all labors will be wasted when it is written wrongly, take time to check things out.

A back link needs to have the keywords of the page it is relating to in the anchor text. Also, do not forget to connect the page with the same keywords, this is one way to ensure the search engines that this link is legitimate.

Although we stress the importance of back links, having an SEO friendly website is crucial too. It is one step to your business' recognition and online presence. Do not let your money and efforts end by just having a website. Hire a professional SEO company that will help you establish your company's reputation.
