We all benefited from our PC when we bought it and until now we are expecting more from its high-technology features that can help us do our work and live our lives. However, PC is like a car that needs maintenance. Car needs tune up and so does your Personal Computer. Always remember that both is a man-made machine so we just need to take care of it to maximize its lives.

Here are the top 5 tips to help you in preserving the life of your PC:

1. Power Off.

Never turn off your computer with the power switch until "Windows has shut down" displayed. Turning off your computer in a safe mode will keep its file safe. Some PC are shut down carelessly leads to missing files and unsaved data.

2. Back-up.

Always save your very important files to floppies, Zip disks or CD. Remember a one time accident of clicking the "Delete" button, is still a command of deleting.

3. Do not let a lot of programs load up in your computer.

Heavy programs can increase or full the usage of your memory thus, can make your PC read slower.

4. Use a virus checker regularly.

This is very useful especially when you are downloading programs through internet or floppies. This will prevent your PC from infection of virus.

5. Clean your windows registry.

Windows registry is a database which stores settings in operating system. This will help you maintain a smooth sailing operating system. You can use a software diagnostic to detect errors from your registry.

I would add that always buy very quality things from well known brand like for example ASUS or so. How do you really can go without it ? I see that something could really be done here. Always use latest patched and driver versions for all software you have.
