Bayern against Borussia: Duel of superlatives
Posted 25 February 2011 - 10:41 PM
Best home team against the best away team. The most successful attack (second round or after a home and striker goals) against the best defense in the league. The big game between the table and the top third FC Bayern Munich Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening (kick-clock 18.30 in the Allianz-Arena) is a battle of superlatives.
Borussia Online takes a close look at both teams:
Facts and figures for crunch match
Both teams have scored 49 goals this season, Bayern including 18 in the second round (top value). BVB was far from the league most shots on goal (398), Munich is the second most (370). Bayern recovered only 41 percent of its major opportunities (only Hamburg less). Borussia (added 61 hits and originals), the most prolific midfield in the league, Munich, the third-best (56).
Despite high dominance - Bayern recorded an average of 58% ball possession, Borussia 51% - both justify their success in the fast Umschaltspiel. 15 lock gates of the master record are just as important as the 62 top Dortmund on goal by account (Bavaria 51). Both punish opponent turnovers (BVB 17 goals, FCB 13) almost as merciless as serious individual faults. Also here are Dortmund (eight goals) and Munich (seven) on positions one and two.
Both have a long breath. 32 BVB goals in second period are as top league as the 15 gates of Munich in the final quarter hour.
Bavaria is better here:
Munich has the lowest rate bad pass in the league (only 14 percent, 22 percent of BVB).
Borussia here is better:
BVB led 818 (!) Battles over Bayern (5459:4641). No team had fewer tackles than Munich! Borussia had only 103 shots on goal in the penalty area (Bayern 158). No team is running as much and as far as the Dortmund (up to 130 km per game).
98 Hits have made both teams already. And it could have been much more. In a direct duel meet the two "Alu-kings" to each other. Borussia already failed 16 times to post or crossbar, the Bavaria 15 times

I am following the Bundesliga from a long time and I have seen a huge fact that Borussia Dortmant makes a player and Bayen Munich buy that one. It is the story of the German football which is good for the National team selection of the Germany. What do you people think?
